Colgate Dental Van through Guildford County School
Kids from Cone Elementary are getting a lesson in good dental hygiene, thanks to the Junior League of Greensboro and the school’s PTA. The Colgate Dental Van rolled into the parking lot for the Bright Smiles, Bright Futures program.
Local pediatric dentist, Dr. Sona Isharani, donated her time to do a dental screening on every student at Cone. Isharani says the primary goal is the teach children and their families how to maintain good oral health.
“For me it’s rewarding to try to help this group,” says Dr. Sona Isharani. “They oftentimes won’t get to see a dentist and, at that, a pediatric dentist. I’m trained to do that. I see it all day, every day. I enjoy it, the kids are fun to be around and it’s my passion. It’s my thing.”
The Junior League of Greensboro helped bring the dental van here as part of its brand new partnership with Cone Elementary. Its goal is to bring outside programing that directly impacts the school. And like every good dental visit, each child went home with a brand new toothbrush!
The heart of our work at Triad Pediatric Dentistry is about community and family. Dr. Sona and her team enjoy helping our friends and neighbors, and that extends beyond the dental office.
