Dr. Shima Ghattan, DMD, MPH
Dr. Shima Ghattan is a Greensboro native. When she was in 4th grade, she started feeling she wanted to be a dentist when she grew up. Later, when she started volunteering at the NC Mission of Mercy dental clinics across North Carolina, she knew dentistry was her calling. She went on to join the Wolfpack at North Carolina State University, earning degrees in Biological Sciences, Human Biology, and Nutrition Science with minors in Health, Medicine, and Human Values.
After graduating from NC State, she went on to Arizona, where she attended A.T. Still University—Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health to realize her dream of becoming a dentist. Armed with her Doctor of Dental Medicine as well as her Masters in Public Health with a Dental Emphasis, she decided she wanted to work with kids. Dr. Ghattan loves helping kids relax and making their trip to the dentist fun with her goofball attitude.
Dr. Ghattan is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and Delta Omega-Delta Gamma (Public Health Honorary Society).
When away from the office, Dr. Ghattan enjoys traveling, hiking the many trails of North Carolina, attending sporting events, and cheering on the NC State Wolfpack—Go PACK! She’s also an accomplished artist!
